Marius Barran has designed a number of new-build projects in London and the West Country. New build offers a different set of challenges whether it is a house or a commercial development.

Michael Carlton’s new thatched house at Alderbury in Hampshire was a fascinating project. Tom Gliddon’s new house and equine hospital at Roadwater, Somerset combines the domestic with the commercial.

An interesting commission was the complete reconstruction of an early 19th Century stable in Wandsworth to house a swimming pool for our clients. The practice is currently working on a number of new build developments.

One scheme in Acton, West London involves converting an existing workshop into a two-bedroom house and renovating a terraced house, as well as an entirely new three-bed, three storey house with a garden, see projections on the right.
